Commission Overview
Each piece is created through a focused, deliberate process, beginning with photographing the subject and ending in a finished, one-of-a-kind ballpoint pen drawing. The details below are meant to give a general sense of how commissions work. If it feels like a good fit, reach out and I can share more about sizing, pricing, and availability.
Commission Options
The Commission Process
-
1. Securing the Commission
Commissions are priced by the final size of the drawing. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your spot and secure my time. The remaining balance is due upon completion.
-
2. Reference Image Capture
I capture the reference image myself whenever possible. This can happen in person (preferred, when feasible) or remotely through a guided photo session or submitted images.
-
3. Sketch & Approval
A preliminary sketch is shared to confirm composition, pose, and overall direction. This is the moment for alignment before the final rendering begins.
-
4. Final Rendering
Once approved, the drawing is rendered entirely in ballpoint pen. This stage is irreversible and where the piece fully comes to life.
-
5. Finishing & Presentation
The finished drawing is carefully prepared for its next home. This may include framing the work or securing the unframed original for safe handling.
-
6. Delivery
The finished work is delivered ready to live with. Whether shipped or hand-delivered, we'll ensure the piece arrives as intended.
